Three community groups have been granted hundreds of pounds each to help pay for projects they have planned.

At a meeting of the East Crawley County Local Committee a total of £4,195 from the Community Initiative Fund was given to three groups.

The committee had been allocated £24,000 for the fund for 2013/14 and had already awarded £9,226.

At the meeting, £2,251 was given to the Crawley Signal Box Preservation Society to pay for replacement signal box steps. The society will ask West Crawley CLC to contribute the remaining £2,813 needed.

The Cameo Club received £444 for a visit to the Old Tyme Music Hall; and St Richard’s Church, Three Bridges, received £1,500 for the refurbishment of the car park.
