CAMERA-keen Shoreham College students have taken part in a photography competition, which received more than 100 entries.

Pupils aged five to 16 entered pieces and Alan Humphries from Southwick Camera Club, Ken Scott of ‘Touching the Light Photography’ and Lisa Fisher of ‘Vertical Photography South-East’ jointly judged the competition.

Prizes were awarded for each category which were donated by What Digital Camera Magazine.

The overall winner was year 8 student Elliot Hasler with ‘Night Squid Fish’ who won a new Nikon Coolpix camera.

The event organiser Sarah Morgan, the college’s librarian, said: “Once again, the competition has generated much interest from the whole school community and there have been some fabulous entries. The judges spent much time deliberating over the winners as the standards were so high.

“We are pleased to have been able to offer pupils the opportunity to show off their skills behind the camera and they have certainly not let us down with their results. We look forward to an even bigger exhibition next time.”

All entries were put on display at the exhibition.
