A Chichester solicitors celebrating their 50th year have given a dementia support charity a boost with a substantial donation.

George Ide LLP, based in Chichester since 1966, has presented Chichester Dementia Support representatives with a cheque for £3,790 after a fundraising year.

The cheque presentation completes a series of four quarterly charitable donations in celebration of the solicitors’ 2016 golden anniversary year.

Other organisations to have benefitted from George Ide’s golden anniversary initiative, which throughout the year saw £5 donated from every bill exceeding £150 plus VAT, include St. Wilfrid’s Hospice, homeless charity Stonepillow, and the city’s New Park Community and Arts Association.

Ursula Watt, George Ide partner and private client department head, said: “We are delighted to support this extremely worthwhile cause.

“Dementia often has a devastating effect on families and will directly affect most of us in some way at some point in our lives. The work done at the charity’s Salisbury House centre focusses on supporting sufferers in our immediate area and delivers valuable care within our local community.”

Looking back on the firm’s golden anniversary fiftieth year, Ursula said: “All of us at George Ide are both humbled and inspired to have been able to make such a significant contribution to the community that our firm has served for more than five decades.

“We look forward to extending this very real commitment to our local area in the months and years to come, and to working in partnership with others to improve the lives of those around us.”
