THE SUN shone as almost 500 people donned their running shoes and took part in the Sport Relief mile at K2 Crawley.
The event kicked off at the leisure centre on Sunday (March 25) where children and adults ran one mile around the K2 track while others ventured further, running six miles around Tilgate Park.
Matt Laird, Crawley Borough Council Wellbeing Officer, said it was a ‘terrific’ day.
He added: “We were blessed with the weather. We had a total of 482 runners and it was all for a good cause.
“We had all shapes and sizes running from little’uns to older adults.
“We also had some good participants from the disabled users as well who got around the mile track. We had 44 volunteers who helped out on the day as marshals.
“We all had a good day. It was the first time we have done it for a number of years and it went really well and we are looking forward to doing it again next year.”
