The new Shoreham Footbridge has officially been crossed for the first time since building began in September last year.

Adur Council chairman, Mike Mendoza and Adur Dictrict Council leader, Neil Parkin were the first two non-construction workers to cross the new footbridge.

Mike Mendoza, said: “We were taken across the bridge by officers of West Sussex and Osborne (the builders). It certainly was quite an experience, we also had the very last walk across the old bridge which is due for demolitian next week.”

It is expected the new bridge will be open to the public by mid-September.
