DURING the fun day, Shoreham RFC was presented with a plaque for winning a pride of the region competition.
Voted best supported grassroots rugby club in the region, Shoreham was crowned NatWest Pride of London and the South East.
Clubs from around the coutnry were asked to vote to demonstrate their support by calling on all members, friends and the local community to vote for them online, and more than 21,000 votes were received in total.
As well as the commemorative plaque, the club received a barbecue up to the value of £250 and five match day rugby balls, used during this year’s RBS 6 Nations matches at Twickenham, to raffle or auction.
Pride of the Nation ambassador Phil Vickery said: “Huge congratulations to Shoreham RFC. What they have done over the past couple of weeks embodies the true spirit of grassroots rugby.
“The support they have drummed up over NatWest RugbyForce weekend shows what the club means to them and the local community and seeing everyone come together to help out is what it is all about.”
