PEOPLE concerned about care home fees can find out more information at a free seminar on Thursday.
The worry of how to pay for care when people need to go into a home is a growing reality for more and more people, says Barchester, which runs Kingsland House Care Home in Shoreham.
A care fee planning seminar is being held at Kingsland House, in Kingsland Close, today from 6pm to 7pm.
It will answer the question: “Do I need to sell my home to pay for care fees?”
A spokesman for Barchester said: “The number of people who will require help at home or in a nursing or residential home in the Adur district is forecast to nearly double in the next 20 years.
“Planning how to pay for it in advance could save you heartache and a lot of money.”
Making decisions on an informed basis can make a difference, he added, and the seminar is aimed at people starting this journey.
People particularly want to know how to meet the costs of care homes, while preserving their capital.
Ian Bush, wealth management adviser, will give expert advice on how to plan effectively for future care needs.
There will be a question and answer session to follow, with light refreshments provided at the end.
