School leads Macarena dancing world record attempt

This afternoon (Friday July 19) Hazelwick School in Three Bridges hosted an attempt to beat the world record for the most people dancing the Macarena at once.

The students were joined by pupils from Pound Hill Junior School, parents, teachers, community groups and businesses to try and beat the current record of 2,219 people while raising money for charity.

Community leaders, including Crawley mayor Cllr Bob Burgess, the MP Henry Smith and Crawley Chief Isp Justina Beeken were invited to the event and they also danced along.

The money raised will be split between Free the Children and St Catherine’s Hospice.
