A 21-year-old woman is hosting her own mini funfair in an aim to raise money before her half marathon.
Rebecca Moody, from Southgate, will run the Royals Park half marathon in London in aid of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home on October 6.
In an aim to raise as many funds for the charity as possible she will host a mini fun fair at a Family Fun Day at Goff’s Manor Pub, Southgate, on August 26.
Rebecca will hold her own fair within the pub’s event which will include a tombola, games and competitions.
The young event organiser said she was inspired to run for the animal re-homing charity after seeing an TV programme about the charity presented by Paul O’Grady called ‘For the Love of Dogs’.
She said: “I was inspired by the amount of time and love they put into making sure animals get a loving home.”
Rebecca said this will be the first charity challenge she has undertaken and the first half marathon she has run.
She said: “At first I was a bit unsure but I’ve been having training session for two months and I’ve got another two months to go so I should be OK.”
