Steyning church members celebrated the arrival of the Royal princess on Saturday

At the special request of Father Neil Roberts, Rector of Ashurst and Vicar of Steyning, The Saint Andrew’s and St Cuthman’s Bell ringers celebrated the birth of the new princess to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and her brother George on Saturday afternoon.

Father Neil said it was a wonderful way to celebrate this special occasion and on behalf of all the parishioners of Steyning, he wished the Royal couple well.

The conductor on the day, Ronnie Stillwell led the band of ringers in Grandsire Triples.

The band on the day included Sue and Emma Gadd, Marion Pickup, Moya and Graham Hills, Giles Cockman, Phil Bowell MBE and Ronnie.

A spokesman for the church said: “A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.”
