A PLAQUE has been presented to Arun Roller Skating Club to mark its recent grant from West Sussex County Council.

The club, based at Arun Leisure Centre in Felpham, received £6,000 from the Members’ Big Society Fund to buy new skates.

Councillors Graham Jones and Francis Oppler presented a plaque to club chairman Kelvin Hickmore on Saturday.

He said the money had helped the club to build a new racking and storage facility, as well as buy new roller boots.

Mr Jones added: “The club is well attended by children of all ages and adults and is a fantastic facility for families.”

The club is a volunteer community group.
