Roads around the Portfield Roundabout in Chichester have now reopened following this morning’s crash - though there is still heavy congestion in places.

Roads were closed around the A27 and A285 for more than three hours after a collision between a car and motorcycle on Wednesday, December 23, before reopening at 10.45am.

The motorcyclist is being treated in hospital for serious injuries, police said.

Sergeant Neil Cox said: “We would like to thank motorists whose journeys were delayed as a result of this incident for their patience and understanding.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either the motorcycle or the Audi A4 involved being driven shortly beforehand is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 216 of 23/12.
