Quicksilver at folk club

Quicksilver, comprising Hilary Spencer and Grant Baynham, are the special guest act at The Willows Folk Club in Arundel on Wednesday, September 12.

Club spokesman Chris Davis said: “Hilary and Grant first began performing together almost a decade ago, and from the very first note enjoyed a meteoric rise in stature on the UK folk scene, pulling in large audience numbers and earning effusive praise wherever they’ve played.

“Individually, both Hilary and Grant have enjoyed highly successful careers in music. With a dazzling singing voice and wonderful sense of humour, Hilary is perhaps best known for her work with vocal harmony trio Artisan, one of the most enduring acts on the UK folk scene for over 20 years.

“Grant Baynham is a guitarist of awe-inspiring skill and dexterity who became a household name after appearing regularly on BBC1’s That’s Life! Grant is also a great songwriter and is loved by audiences everywhere for his quirky sense of humour.

“Together, Hilary and Grant weave together an evening of music described as stunningly entertaining – hilarious comic songs coupled with tender ballads, traditional and contemporary folk coupled with blues, and a brilliant singer coupled with a brilliant musician. Quicksilver’s appearance at the Willows promises an evening of high-quality entertainment and sheer musical magic!”
