CHILDREN did so well collecting presents for needy families, they beat their target.
Pupils at St Nicolas and St Mary CE Primary School managed to fill 129 boxes for the Link to Hope Shoebox Appeal.
Teacher Hannah Wing said: “We are delighted that we met our target and the children have shown a real understanding of the needs of the families this scheme will benefit.”
The shoeboxes will leave the school, in Eastern Avenue, Shoreham, and eventually head to Eastern Europe, where they will be handed out to families and elderly people.
Head teacher David Etherton said: “We are delighted with the generosity of children and parents who have gift-wrapped a shoebox of goodies for families in need.
“It is a privilege to share a little joy at Christmas time in this way.”
