A SOUTHWICK couple were the first contestants to be eliminated from a new BBC Saturday night gameshow.

Sandra Cooley, 43, and Elizabeth D’Arcy, 56, of Southview Road, appeared in the first episode of Prized Apart on BBC One.

It’s a huge achievement to even be on the show.

The show, presented by Emma Willis and Reggie Yates, sees ten couples battle it out over a six-week period to win £100,000.

One from each couple had to fly out to Morocco to be an adventurer, taking part in a number of exhilarating challenges.

The bottom three contestants from each challenge were then flown back to the UK to join their partners in the studio in a bid to save their place on the show.

Adventurer Elizabeth finished bottom in the first challenge – a death-defying canyon swing.

And despite Sandra’s best efforts the pair were unable secure their place.

Elizabeth said: “It’s a huge achievement to even be on the show. It’s wonderful. I just wish I could have been out there for longer.

“I met some great people and I would do it all again.”

The couple decided to enter the show in a bid to win money to help fund a move to Los Angeles. However, they have since decided to stay in the UK.
