A team of six power safety workers plans to scale Mount Snowden for charity this weekend.
The UK Power Networks’ team - John Lowe, Jennifer Backstrom, Dave Daintree, Dick Milton, Nicola Saunders and Steve Welch - will take on the highest peak in Wales on Saturday (June 8) in aid of the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice and Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Based in Smallfield, most of the team live in Crawley.
John Lowe said: “I have never done anything like this before in my life so I’m nervous, but having told everyone I’m doing it my pride will get me there.”
Snowdon has an altitude of 1,085 metres above sea level and is the highest point in the British Isles outside Scotland.
