Pulborough post office is to be relocated to a site 150 yards across the road from its previous location, and will retain a wide range of services.

The news has been announced by the Post Office, which says the move to the Londis store at 83 Lower Street will also bring extended opening hours in an established retail outlet, retaining a wide range of services, including car tax and travel money.

It added that the relocation at 83 Lower Street will bring extended opening hours in an established retail outlet.

Post Office spokesperson, Caroline Hoare said: “Having carefully considered the feedback received, we are confident that moving is the best way to safeguard the future of the branch in the longer term. Post Office Ltd is committed to maintaining a service to Pulborough as we understand the importance a Post Office has in the local community particularly for elderly or disabled customers.

She added: “All staff at the new location will be trained to use Post Office technology and the much longer opening hours during the week and Saturday afternoon and Sunday opening will allow greater convenience for customers using the new branch.”

The service will operate from a newly formatted open plan counter to create adequate space with level access and wide doors.

Internally there will be a hearing loop and space for one wheelchair.

Services will include car tax and travel money, automated banking services, bill and budget payment schemes, Post Office card account, postal orders as well normal postal services.

Owners Yogen Patel and his wife Darshana say they are looking forward to giving a good service to all customers, using the new counter, which is being provided, along with special facilities for elderly and wheelchair users.
