New research has shown that men are more likely to take gym mirror selfies than women.

The poll of 1,000 gym members, conducted by Banana Moon Clothing, looked into the UK’s biggest pet peeves in the gym, as well as the bad habits we are all guilty of.

A quarter of gym goers in the UK get annoyed that the gym is too busy at peak times, with a further 9 per cent of people finding themselves frustrated when having to queue to use the machines.

The poll revealed the vainest age group in the gym are members aged between 18 and 24 years old, who are almost four times as likely to take a mirror selfie compared to 25 to 34 year olds.

Although many female celebrities are in the spotlight for taking gym selfies, research found that men are actually the worst culprits, with twice as many men admitting to taking mirror selfies in the gym, 8 per cent, compared to just 4 per cent of women.
