Two Tory district councillors have resigned within weeks of each other.

John Allen, who represented Bolney on Mid Sussex District Council, stepped down in late February, while Chris King, one of two councillors for Burgess Hill Franklands ward, has resigned.

The district council has published a notice of vacancy for both the Bolney and Franklands wards.

The Tory Party had all 54 seats on the council following the May 2015 elections.
