EIGHTY years of local theatre are being celebrated by offering free seats to octogenarians.

Southwick Players decided to mark their anniversary by offering free seats at this year’s shows to anyone aged 80 or over.

The company has ten pairs of complimentary seats for matinée performances from April to December, giving those who qualify to go with someone younger if they choose.

President Nigel Bubloz said: “We wanted to do something to celebrate our 80th anniversary and also thank people living in the area who continue to support our performances.

“We hope these tickets will be taken up both by people who regularly support our shows but also by those who might be new to enjoying the theatre experience.”

Established in 1935, the Southwick Players have a rich and award-winning history in amateur theatre in the area. They produce a varied programme each year, with a repertoire ranging from contemporary productions, classic plays, musicals, pantomimes and comedy evenings.

We hope these tickets will be taken up both by people who regularly support our shows but also by those who might be new to enjoying the theatre experience
