PEOPLE in Steyning and Upper Beeding are urged to plant a tree for future generations.

Wild Foxes Forest School is holding a community tree planting day on Saturday, March 14, from 11.30am to 3pm.

There are trees to climb and dens waiting to be built

Wild Foxes Forest School leader Tinks

The school’s leader, known as Tinks, said: “Bring your family along, rain or shine, and plant a Woodlands Trust sapling for your children’s children to enjoy in years to come.

“Campfire cooking, hot drinks and Forest School-style soup will be available on the day and donations are welcome.”

The school is a social enterprise, not-for-profit company based at Rory’s Wild Woods, in Annington Road, Steyning.

It is on the Downs Link, just south of the A283 and north of the Foxes Woods, near the South Downs Way.

Children from Elan Nursery, Steyning, who regularly take part in sessions there, will be among those planting trees on the day.

Tinks added: “Please bring a spade, cup, spoon and bowl. There are trees to climb and dens waiting to be built.

“Why not walk or cycle along the Downs Link path from Steyning? It is only a two-minute ride after crossing the A283.”
