A RUSTINGTON care home has celebrated the unveiling of a new suite.
Alison Cooper, chairman of Rustington Parish Council, cut the ribbon to open the new Milton and Shelley suite at Darlington Court, in The Leas, off Station Road.
The suite will provide residential care for 24 older people, with en-suite bedrooms and communal spaces. It is split into two distinct areas, one with a garden and one with a seaside theme, and there is a dining room with doors to the garden, two conservatory spaces and two lounges.
Family, friends and residents were invited to the opening ceremony by owners Care UK.
Guests were treated to afternoon tea and there was a party atmosphere throughout the afternoon with live music from singer Louise Radcliffe, who entertained with songs from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s.
Julie Bartholomew, customer relations manager, said: “As with everything we do at Darlington Court, our residents their families and the local community were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the Milton and Shelley suite.
“We have built a warm, welcoming community here at Darlington Court with everything in place so we can provide the highest standards of care and it is great that we are in a position to open the next area of the home.
“We were delighted so many people joined us as we marked this important milestone, and we now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”
