CHILDREN enjoyed learning about old-fashioned games and trying on clothing from the past at Steyning Museum.
During the school holidays, the children’s corner at the Church Street museum has offered a variety of old games to play, along with brass rubbings and mosiacs.
Children have also been given the chance to try on a dress in the style of a Victorian middle-class girl, as well as other costumes and hats.
The dress, modelled here by regular museum visitor Hazel Astbury, eight, would most probably have been used for Sunday afternoon tea.
Hazel, from Lewes, regularly visits with her grandmother, Rachel Lambert, who lives in Steyning.
The museum is open all year round and entry is free. Opening times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm, Saturday10.30pm to 4.30pm, and Sunday 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
