The Forest School welcomed back old faces last week as the ‘Class of 2013’ returned for the annual Awards Evening celebration.
Joining them was guest speaker Mr Mark Perry, Head of Architecture in the European Defence and National Security Practice at Hewlett Packard.
Mr Perry congratulated the young men on their outstanding achievements and offered them some words of wisdom as they move on to the next stage of their education and careers.
Parents, staff and friends were there to celebrate the GCSE success of all the boys and to see cups and prizes awarded to those who had attained particular achievements.
This year saw a new award presented by Dr John Smith from the University of Brighton.
The University of Brighton Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement was presented to Sam Holden for his superb exam results.
Mr Gareth Good added: “Every year we have a high number of boys who achieve exceptional GCSE and higher level exam results.
“We wanted to recognise this through the presentation of a new award. Sam truly deserved this accolade achieving 14 A*/A grades, a distinction and an A grade in AS History.”
Headteacher Ms Denning said of the evening: “It was a lovely, joyous event. I am always so proud on this evening; it is such a special occasion where the school community can celebrate every pupil’s achievements.”
She went on to add: “These young men will always be Forest boys; we wish all of them the very best for their futures.”
