Crawley Hospital League of Friends has donated £12,500 for a new camera for the women’s centre to help diagnose cancer of the womb lining.
The equipment has already started to be used in the hysteroscopy clinic at the hospital in West Green. Hysteroscopy is a short diagnostic and operative procedure women can have done as an outpatient. If anything is detected, biopsies can ben removed and sent off for analysis. Consultant George Richter said: “It’s better quality and high definition. It’s just so important, quality is priority.”
