THE East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton has welcomed news of Sir Robert Woodard Academy appointing a permanent principal and has praised the outgoing head.
Mr Loughton said former principal Colette Singleton had brought about a “remarkable transformation” at the school.
In a letter to Mrs Singleton, he said: “The changes you have pioneered in the school over the last 18 months have been truly remarkable. Whilst the picture of the school I see is gleaned largely from
my visits and discussions with the students, as the constituency MP I am also often the firstport of call for parents and other members of the community, usually when
something is going wrong. “Over recent months, I have had nothing but good reports and it has been clear that a transformation for the good has been taking place.”
Mr Loughton said he looked forward to Peter Midwinter being appointed new principal from April 15 and believed the school would end up rated outstanding by Ofsted.
