Midhurst and Petworth Rotarians celebrate Burns Night

Midhurst and Petworth Rotarians, their ladies and guests were brightly dressed, some in their full Scottish costume with kilts and sashes and almost everyone sporting some tartan in honour of Scotland's greatest poet.

The evening began with a rendition of the Selkirk Grace from the Elma. The haggis was piped in by Tim. President ‘Robbie’ then addressed the haggis.

Guest speaker Jock Meikle gave ‘The Immortal Memory’. A past President of the Burns Club of London and the Caledonian Society of London, he was clearly very experienced in the roll.

Andrew Mitchell followed this with his ‘address to the lassies’ and the reply came from Alison Williams.

The thanks was given by Helen Chapman and this was followed by Auld Lang Syne.
