THE Meals on Wheels service in Selsey is expanding to provide a wider menu choice and the opportunity to buy afternoon tea.
The service will be kitted out with extra cooking equipment to cater for the increasing numbers of people using it.
The menus includes kosher, Caribbean and halal food.
The service also caters for people who are:
Need lower fat content
Need gluten-free food
Need reduced salt
Need puréed food
Peter Catchpole, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, said: “The service is there for anyone who needs it, you do not need to be referred.
“New users of the service can try out the meals and desserts for five days for just £15 as an introductory offer.”
To manage the need for the service it is calling on someone to spare a few hours a week to cook food for housebound older and vulnerable people in the area.
The position available is Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12pm. The salary is £6.18 an hour.
