Man attacked in Crawley High Street

Police have cordoned off part of the Broad Walk at the junction with the High Street, in Crawley, after a man was attacked.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said that officers were called to a report of a man having been stabbed in the High Street at 1.30pm today (Wednesday August 7).

The spokesman added: “It was established that the man had not been stabbed but had been cut by two suspects while he was sitting outside a cafe.

“His condition is not believed to be serious.

“The suspects ran off.

“The victim has been taken to the East Surrey Hospital by ambulance. The air ambulance was initially called but then stood down.”

Investigating officers are at the scene.
