THE Sunday Lunch Club at the Dingemans Centre in Steyning is proving so popular, more volunteers are needed.

The club, open to everyone aged 55 and over, launched in March at the Shooting Field centre, midday to 2pm.

Donna Bailey, older people’s services manager, said the club, which serves a traditional two-course Sunday lunch, had proved to be a huge success.

“It is a great place to meet with friends over a traditional two-course Sunday lunch in a welcoming and relaxing environment,” she added.

“We are now looking for additional volunteers to help prepare food and serve our customers. No previous experience is necessary.”

Volunteers who can spare a couple of hours on Sunday are welcome. Training and expenses will be provided.

People who can help in the kitchen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, midday to 2pm, are also urgently needed.

Donna added: “If you would like to be part of this vibrant and friendly lunch club and have a couple of hours to spare each week, we would love to hear from you.”
