Firefighters have confirmed that one person is dead, following a crash on the A24 this morning (July 4).

The collision, involving two cars, was reported to emergency services just before 7.30am.

Fire crews from Horsham and Dorking, and a heavy rescue tender from Crawley, were sent to the scene, outside Wattlehurst Farm in Dorking Road.

The A24 is closed between the Great Daux roundabout to the south and at Capel to the north.
