Opener John Pool (75) was the only batsman to make double figures and with him the eighth-man out, the hosts closed with 132 in the 33rd over.

Thorne said:“Skilts (Craig Skilton) set us up brilliantly with a really patient and solid knock of 50 which he carried through most of the innings.

“It was a great demonstration of skill and patience and is a great way for him to kick start his season in a new Slinfold shirt.

“Once again Jordan was the leader of the attack and accounted for four of the top six. Paul Osbourne bowled well with the new ball and picked up a decent wicket, and I was able to dry runs up from the other end, apply a little bit of pressure around the bat, and pick up the tail with 4 wickets of my own.”

Thorne added:“After two games we are where I expected us to be with two wins on the board and (joint) top of the league. It’s still early days so we can’t be getting carried away but it’s a solid start to the year with a lot more from us to come.”
