Horticultural society hosts ‘best ever’ show

THE Shoreham Horticultural and Allotment Society held its ‘best ever’ Summer Show on Saturday, at the Shoreham Centre.

Daphne Thomas, show secretary, said: “The main room of the centre was full of tables laden with magnificent cut flowers, including gladiolus and dahlias.

“The fuchsia pot plants were of special interest. The vegetable classes did well, especially the garden trug section.

“The floral art classes were well received, as were the cookery and hobbies sections.

“Our autumn show is being held at the Shoreham Centre on Saturday, October 10.”

The Shoreham Hort-
icultural and Allotment Society was founded in 1919, and the group meets on the first Friday of each month at St Peter’s Church Hall.
