Surgeon visits Easebourne to explain foundation's work

Easebourne School's hall was transformed, with help from The Upholsterer, into an exotic eastern setting for a David Nott Foundation fundraiser on Saturday evening.

With the British surgeon himself attending the event, guests were moved and fascinated by his talk on the foundation’s programme of training other surgeons in hostile environment surgery.

David and Elly Nott started the foundation to further the principles and improve the standards and practice of humanitarian surgery.

They achieve this through the education and training of medical professionals and raising the profile of humanitarian surgery in the UK and worldwide.

David has been a consultant surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he specialises in general surgery, for 23 years.

During that time, he has taken unpaid leave each year to work for aid agencies.

Bis Culley, the event organiser and a David Nott fundraiser, would like to express her gratitude to everyone who so generously supported this event.

She said: “With fabulous food by Food For Occasions, bar by Langham Brewery and music by The Courtiers, sponsored by Arnolds Opticians and the Country House Company, the event was a huge success, with happy guests caught on camera by Clive Bennett.”
