Sunday September 4 at 10:30am West Grinstead 10 miles mainly level Explorer Map 134/TQ184226 Meet at the Downs Link car park just off the A272 between the A24 and Cowfold. The car park entrance is a few yards east of the Orchard Restaurant. Walk via New House Farm, West Grinstead church, Butchers Row, Sussex Farm, Partridge Green (L), Littleworth, Chucks Farm, Furzefield Wood, Downs Link. Notes: Fields, farms and woods, with a short urban section on leaving Partridge Green.

Saturday September 3: Meet at 2pm at Whiteways roundabout car park (A29/B2139/A284, TQ 001108). Hilly circular walk to Houghton along parts of South Downs Way, Monarch’s Way and River Arun providing superb views of Arundel Park and the Arun Valley. Free, just turn-up. Well-behaved dogs welcome. 4 ½ miles.

Tuesday, September 6: Meet at 10am at the Countryman Inn, Shipley (TQ 135214). Flat circular walk through farmland, along an ancient droving road and into Knepp Park. Could see Tamworth Pigs, Fallow Deer, Exmoor Ponies and Old English Long-horn Cattle. Free, just turn-up. No dogs. 5 ½ miles.

Thursday, September 8: Meet at 10am at Sports Pavilion, Jubilee Fields, Billingshurst. Various circular walks over farmland along the River Arun and Wey Canal. Free, just turn-up. No dogs. 4 to 6 miles.

Friday, September 9: Meet at 11am in Cripplegate Lane car park, Southwater Country Park. Flat easy circular walk along bridleways, lanes and the Downs Link. Free, just turn-up. Dogs on leads. 2 ½ miles.
