Hailsham hit and run update

Police have released more details about the Hailsham hit and run yesterday (Tuesday) as officers continue to look for the driver and vehicle involved.

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries following the incident, which happened at about 6.40am in South Road.

Sergeant Richard Hornsey, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said, “This was an appalling incident that left an elderly lady lying in the road with significant injuries.

“From debris found at the collision site, we are looking for a Ford Fiesta or Ford B-max in Candy Blue, manufactured from 2012 onwards. The vehicle has damaged a wing mirror in the collision.

“If you know someone who drives a vehicle like this and could have been in the Hailsham area yesterday morning between 6 and 7am, please contact the investigation team on [email protected] or call 101, quoting Operation Image.”
