A GRANDMOTHER living with terminal cancer is hoping her medicinal use of cannabis will prolong her life and possibly cure her condition.
‘Jane’, 65, from Worthing, has been taking a drop of cannabis oil three times a day, since the beginning of June, to combat her illness. Her name has been changed to protect her identity.
Two years ago, she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. She had the cancerous section of her bowel removed and felt ‘absolutely fine’.
In March, 2013, she had an operation to remove a ‘harmless cyst’. Because of her medical history – Jane had overcome cervical cancer 26 years previously – the hospital carried out thorough checks and found cancer had spread to her peritoneum.
She was with her husband when she received the news.
Jane said: “I was absolutely devastated. You just can’t imagine the shock.”
