GOLF, butties and banter gave a group of 31 gents a great day – and raised £1,170 into the bargain.

Home-Start Chichester and District trustee Paul Mcneill organised the fundraising golf day at Avisford Park Hotel Golf Course last Friday.

Gaby Sartin, Home-Start co-ordinator, said: “All 31 gentlemen arrived at 9am for a welcome bacon butty and banter. Tee off commenced at 10.04 precisely and eight flights departed for their rounds.

“Half way round, there were some very sad faces from those not having their best rounds. Nevertheless, good humour prevailed along with a couple of very happy golfers playing out of their skins.

“As the golfers returned, a fine meal of warming lasagne was waiting for them, along with a raffle and prizes for the longest drive, best putt and overall best golfer of the day.”

Mr Mcneill and Larry Chambers were the overall winners.
