On Thursday 14th November 180 Year 11 students dressed to impress when they undertook a day of practice interviews with local business leaders in preparation for college or job interviews during the next few months.
Students had spent time planning for their interview in their Learning for Life lessons. Each student put together a Record of Achievement, containing a CV, personal statement, work experience statement and certificates they achieved over the last five year.
Sixteen interviewers included Colin Young from Cranleigh Freight Services, Graham Rapley, Nicholas North (Link Governor), Dan Coleman (an ex-student) and representatives from the Cranleigh Rotary Club were involved throughout the day.
As well as the practice of an interview the students also received valuable feedback on areas such as their enthusiasm, quality of their CV and their appearance.
Miss Angie Chandler who is the schools Information Advice and Guidance assistant said “I would like to thank these interviewers for giving up a day of their valuable time to conduct the interviews. Having read the student evaluation forms, most students said how nervous they were before the interview, but had felt the interview has helped them to prepare for their up and coming college interviews”.
