A national retailer has announced it will be moving to Horsham.

The shop formerly occupied by HMV, in West Street, has been the talk of the town for the past few months with rumours flying around on social media as to who will be filling the empty retail unit.

We are in a very lucky position to be able to continue expanding the company and are particularly pleased to be showcasing a new and exciting look at the new store in Horsham.

But Cotswold Outdoor confirmed this week it will be opening a new store at the site which is set to be one of the first of its kind in the country.

The retailer, which provides outdoor clothing and equipment, is set to open the shop in June bringing with it ten new jobs.

Cotswold Outdoor currently runs 70 stores across the UK but the Horsham shop is set to be slightly different as it pilots the company’s brand new design.

Hans Falkenburg, CEO at Cotswold Outdoor, said he was very excited about the new shop.

He said: “It’s a very exciting time for us at Cotswold Outdoor.

“We are in a very lucky position to be able to continue expanding the company and are particularly pleased to be showcasing a new and exciting look at the new store in Horsham.

“This will be the first of our new-look stores including interactive product areas, new features and displays and an exciting new range of outdoor kit.

“Designed to make it even easier and more enjoyable for customers to get the most suitable gear, this adds to the importance of providing expert service and advice to our customers from our highly trained staff on an unsurpassed range of outdoor clothing and equipment.”

Cotswold Outdoor is one of many new shops opening in time for the summer.

Clothing retailer Jigsaw confirmed it will be moving to the town while Bento / Sushi company Kokoro opened its doors to the public earlier this week.

A spokesperson for Crickmay Chartered Surveyors also announced this week the Early Learning Centre is under offer to an ‘exciting fashion retailer’.
