Free Sunday car parking is being introduced to help shoppers and traders in the run-up to Christmas.
The Town Hall multi-storey car park will be free to use between 9am and 8pm on 1, 8, 15 and 22 December.
It will be closed on the 25 and 26 December, as well as on New Year’s Day. The free parking continues for the sale season on Sunday 29 December and 5 January.
The Town Hall multi-storey car park will also trial Sunday opening on a paid-for basis from 12 January.
Cllr Ken Trussell, cabinet member for environment, said: “The run up to Christmas is a particularly busy and expensive time of year, especially in terms of shopping.
“The council has offered free car parking each year since 2003 to help make shopping in the town centre easier for residents.”
Cllr Bob Lanzer, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “Crawley is an excellent place for shoppers to find Christmas gifts, there is a large variety of shops as well as bars, restaurants and leisure facilities to relax in afterwards.
“Christmas is an important time for our local traders and we hope that free car parking will encourage more people to come and experience what Crawley has to offer.”
