THE proposal to merge East Sussex and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services will be one of the headline items at the next public meeting of Joint Western Arun Area Committee.
A senior representative of West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will outline the proposal and answer questions.
George Blampied, Chairman of the Committee’s West Sussex County Council members, said: “Both Fire and Rescue Services are developing a business case on options to increase operational resilience and preserve frontline services to the public across West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove.
“No decision has been made and this meeting is an opportunity for local residents, business and public organisations to give their views on the proposal.
“This is part of the consultation exercise that began in July and will continue throughout September.”
The agenda will also include:
A verbal update on Bognor Regis Parking Review.
An update on community police issues and latest local crime figures.
Priorities for Traffic Regulation Orders.
Talk With Us – which gives members of the public the opportunity to raise local issues they are concerned about.
The meeting is being held on Wednesday September 21 at The Arena Sports Centre, Westloats Lane, Bognor Regis, starting at 7pm.
