Fire crews find out who cares

Crawley Fire crew visited Sainsbury’s, in Crawley Avenue, to launch West Sussex Fire and Rescue’s ‘Who Cares?’ campaign on Friday (June 14).

The aim of the campaign is to encourage people to look out for people who are vulnerable to home fires by making use of home fire safety checks. In these checks, firefighters visit people’s homes to test and install fire alarms. Crawley Fire Station crew manager Steve Burns said nearly half of people who die in home fires are over the age of 65 and live on their own. To book a fire safety check call 0800 3286487.
