Fernhurst Good Companions prepare for their biannual Ploughman's lunch in the village hall.

THE Good Companions enjoyed their twice yearly ploughman’s lunch in Fernhurst Village Hall and raised £100 for club funds into the bargain.

Not for them just cheese and a roll, this started with homemade soup, then cheese, ham, coleslaw and wine.

The group of retired villagers meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month with an extra garden meeting in August. The club has around 70 members and a varied programme in the next few weeks, including tea with Haslemere Stroke Club, a mystery outing and a talk on Glamour, Gumboots and Guernsey Cows.
