EASTER came early in Shoreham, as families scoured the town centre in a free egg hunt.

Clues were hidden on giant card eggs in East Street shops and forms were handed out at Shoreham Farmers’ Market on Saturday.

Organised by Shoreham Baptist Church, the free egg hunt offered a small prize for all and the chance to win a giant chocolate egg in a draw.

Nick Hough, one of the organisers, said: “Scores of people had fun hunting for clues round Shoreham town centre and farmers’ market.

“When they took their completed forms back to Shoreham Baptist Church, in Western Road, they were given a free crème egg, plus drinks and hot cross buns.

“This was a brilliant event and proved really popular with families.

“We had around 100 family forms handed in, and there was a real buzz in the church all morning.”

The egg hunt has become part of the church’s annual programme, together with the Big Bounce, the Harvest supper and Christmas treasure hunt.

Mr Hough added: “We just love to bless our town and community with family-friendly fun events as we mark the major Christian festivals.”
