Horsham will have to wait until next year to take on FA Cup heroes Whitehawk in the Sussex Senior Cup.
Due to the Brighton-based side making headlines in the national news with their other cup exploits, the third-round clash with the Hornets scheduled for next Wednesday has been postponed.
Instead of welcoming Dominic Di Paola’s side, the Hawks will be hosting Dagenham and Redbridge in their FA Cup replay along with the BT Sport cameras - with the game being shown live on TV.
Steve King’s side will be bidding to set up a third-round tie away at Premier League giants Everton - a game worth a potential £1million to the high-flying Hawks.
Meanwhile, the glamour of the Sussex Senior Cup at the Enclosed Ground has been put back to Tuesday, January 5 at 7.45pm, where a place in the quater-finals in at stake.
Speaking on the Senior Cup tie before the postponement, Di Paola said: “I really rate them, they play lovely football. It’ll be a great game and we will have to get right into them that day.
“I think that’s the only chance we will have of stopping them. If we get physical they might not fancy that, but who knows.
“I’d have loved an easy tie as then you are only two games away from The Amex and with a bit of luck in the draw, who knows.
“We are playing the favourites now as everyone else is out, it’ll be a tough old game, but we will give it a go.”
