PROPOSALS for a new sports pavilion and recreation facilities in Bolnore Village, Haywards Heath are planned but residents are under consultation until the end of the month.
Mid Sussex District Council and the Bolnore Village Residents’ Association are encouraging all potential users to make their voices heard. The consultation, which started in June, runs until Friday July 29.
When the Bolnore Village development was agreed, Mid Sussex District Council ensured that land was transferred for use as a recreation ground. Along with this, the developer, Crest Nicholson, gave the council some money towards the cost of building a new sports pavilion and other recreation facilities at the site.
The council’s outline plan is for a new sports pavilion, access road, car park, youth facilities and associated landscaping at the recreation ground and it is now seeking feedback from residents.
“The proposals are very exciting and I would like to see everyone, who will be using the new recreation ground, make their opinions heard by taking part in the consultation,” said councillor Pru Moore, Cabinet Member.
“Mid Sussex District Council wants to deliver what is most important to residents, and other potential users of the amenity, but this can only be achieved if the community’s priorities are known.
“It is important that communities have somewhere to meet up and get involved. The council is now at the stage where plans can be firmed up to begin building. By this time next year, we hope the work will have started on site and that it can be used from spring 2013.”
