A COURSE on the environnment and conservation will offer work both inside and outside the classroom.

Tutor Stephen Savage said the environment and conservation level one programme would take place at Foredown Tower in Portslade, ‘the perfect location for a wildlife course’.

It is designed for people interested in pursuing a career in the environment, or those who want to increase their knowledge of the local environment.

The course focuses on habitats in particular woodland, grassland and freshwater habitats and also examines how animals and plants in these habitats are linked.

There will also be a field trip for one full session.

Successful students will receive a certificate and have the option to progress to level two.

The course starts on October 9 and runs on two consecutive days a week, from 10am to 3pm.

The course is funded by the skills agency, so people in receipt of benefits may be entitled to a special rate of £10.
