LARGE numbers braved the rain to tour the three venues for this year’s Artists and Makers weekend.
The event was expanded following the success of last year’s launch, taking in more venues in Shoreham town centre and adding an extra day.
Organised by adurArtcollective, the weekend featured work by more than 50 artists at St Mary’s Hall in East Street, Star Gap by Coronation Green, and the pop-up gallery SkyBlue Pink in High Street.
Secretary Chris Howitt said: “We were really pleased with the number of people who came to the Artists and Makers weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
“Despite the awful weather, more than 500 people visited the three venues over the two days and many took the opportunity to buy the original work from the artists. It was very encouraging to see so many people keen to support the work of local artists in this way.”
The adurArtcollective calendar, Shoreham – a different point of view, also proved popular. Remaining copies will be available at the late-night shopping event in Shoreham on December 2 and at the farmers’ market on December 13.
