Each year, the school, in York Road, Littlehampton, appeals for gifts for children abroad who are in desperate need of some festive cheer.

Through the charity Samaritan’s Purse, shoeboxes full of gifts are wrapped and sent away.

Teachers report that the pupils’ families were very generous and it was clear that a lot of thought went into finding age-relevant gifts, as well as vital products like toiletries and other more practical items. It was down to the genius of the box filler that some were crammed full but still shut.

Judy Grevett, executive head teacher, was over the moon and said: “We are delighted that our school community has donated all this lovely and useful gifts to those who need them in other countries.

“We have been overwhelmed by their generosity.”

This year, 50 boxes have been sent to the local depot, which is at Shoe Zone, Bognor Regis.
